Music Academy was re-opened after reconstruction
On Friday, 8th of April, Vytautas Magnus University Music Academy was ceremoniously re-opened after reconstruction period. The premises adjusted to high quality standards certainly turn on the new page for education of musicians in Kaunas. The dean of the Music Academy assoc. prof. Saulius Gerulis emphasized that the mission of the Music Academy is extremely important for both temporary capital and the whole Lithuania – the Music Academy educates professionals for Kaunas State Musical Theatre, Kaunas State Choir, Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra, as well as pedagogues for the music schools of Kaunas district.
The graduates of the Music Academy are successfully working in Lithuania and abroad proclaiming the country in the international events. “We believe that the deep traditions which have been developed in this building from the interwar period will produce creative environment for both Kaunas and Lithuania” – said the dean of the Music Academy while discussing the aspirations.
