TOMS OSTROVSKIS

Toms Ostrovskis studied piano performance at the Emils Darzins Secondary Music School and Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, continuing his education on full scholarship at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama under the tutelage of Ronan O’Hora, where he obtained Master of Music in Performance Degree and an Advanced Instrumental Studies Diploma; from 2005 to 2007 he was a fellowship student at GSMD, researching piano teaching methodology in a joint City University-GSMD programme. During studies, Toms Ostrovskis participated in many international competitions and masterclasses in Great Britain, Holland, Portugal and France, learning from various renowned artists-teachers, such as David Dubal, Joseph Banowetz, Christopher Elton, Joan Havill, Sergey Babayan, Karl Kemmerling, John O’Conor, and others. He has participated in Liepaja Piano Stars Festivals and has performed with such collectives as the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, Liepaja Symphony Orchestra, Bucharest Radio Orchestra, Guildhall Symphony Orchestra, London City University Symphony Orchestra, and other collectives. He was a finalist of European Broadcasting Union Radio Competition „New Talent” (Bucharest) and Guildhall Gold Medal competition (London), 3rd prize winner in the International Jazeps Vitols Piano Competition (Latvia), recipient of the Myra Hess Education Awards and the Yamaha – Kemble UK Scholarship Award.
Since 2007 Toms Ostrovskis is a member of the Piano Department of Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music. He has lead masterclasses in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland, Italy, Iceland, Sweden, Poland, Great Britain, and other countries. He is an active chamber musician and frequently participates in various solo and chamber music projects in Latvia and abroad. Toms Ostrovskis has made numerous recordings for the Latvian Radio 3 “Klasika”. Since 1998 he is a member of the Latvian Piano Teachers Association (board member since 2010), representing EPTA Latvia in festivals and conferences across Europe. In 2007 he became actively involved in the Innovative Conservatoire (ICon) project, an international collaboration to stimulate knowledge exchange, innovation and reflective practice in Conservatoires. Since 2014 he is the director of the „Talents of Inese Galante” competition and since 2019 leads the education initiative of the Riga Jurmala Music Festival, organizing international masterclasses of such renowned musicians as Mischa Maisky, Yefim Bronfman, Andras Schiff and Renee Fleming, amongst others. Since 2016 Toms Ostrovskis is a member of the Nordplus “Actt in Art” network, developing entrepreneurship opportunities at higher music education institutions; since 2017 he is a member of project evaluation committee of the Creative Industries Incubator of the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia.

MARIANNA SHIRINYAN
Armenian-born Marianna Shirinyan is one of Europe’s most sought-after and creative pianists. Known for her vibrant and virtuosic musicianship, she excels both as a soloist and chamber musician. With her technical brilliance, tonal beauty, and deep sensitivity, she brings a broad repertoire to life. Her love for music and joy in sharing it with audiences are evident in her performances.
Shirinyan has received prestigious accolades, including Danish Broadcasting Corporation’s P2 Award for her contributions to Danish music and the Danish Critics Prize. In 2022, she was honored with the Carl and Anne-Marie Nielsen Award.
A frequent guest at renowned festivals like Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Bodensee Festival, Schwetzinger Festspiele, and Bergen’s Festspillene, Shirinyan has solidified her reputation as a leading pianist of her generation. She has performed with many major orchestras, including the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Danish National Symphony Orchestra, and Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of renowned conductors such as Andrey Boreyko, Lawrence Foster, and Joshua Weilerstein.
Her discography shines with critically acclaimed recordings. Notably, she received the P2 Prize for her recording of Louis Glass’s Fantasy for Piano and Orchestra with the Rheinische Philharmonie Koblenz, conducted by Daniel Raiskin. Her recently released albums, including Chopin: 4 Ballades and 4 Scherzi (Orchid Classics), “An die Musik” with cellist Torleif Thedéen (LAWO), and Hypnosis with Dóra Kokas (Hungaroton), have been praised by critics and listeners alike.
Marianna Shirinyan is a Professor of Piano at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen and also curates chamber music festivals across Europe. She is a proud Steinway Artist.

CHRISTOPHER PARK
“Christopher Park is a pianist who captivates with his fascinating technical mastery, astounding musical maturity, and a particularly intense performance style” – this was the explanation given by the jury by the Stiftung Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival upon awarding Christopher Park the renowned Leonard Bernstein Award 2014.
Numerous important ensembles have engaged Park, a Bamberg-born musician, including the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, both Frankfurt and North German Radio Symphony Orchestras, WDR Sinfonieorchester, Deutsche Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Frankfurt Opera Orchestra, Magdeburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Hungarian National Philharmonic, Spanish National Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Galicia, Cape Philharmonic Orchestra, Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, China NCPA Orchestra, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Seoul Philharmonic, Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, Chambre Orchestra of Lausanne, English Chamber Orchestra, Munich Symphony Orchestra and Bamberg Symphony, to name but a few. In November 2014, Christopher Park stood in for Emanuel Ax to great success with the North German Radio Symphony Orchestra, only a few months after his widely celebrated début in Hamburg.
So far he has worked with conductors such as Christoph Eschenbach, Paavo Jarvi, Sebastian Weigle, Jukka-Pekka Saraste, Ion Marin, James Gaffigan, Zsolt Hamar, Roman Kofman, Nicholas Milton, Kimbo Ishii, Paul Daniel and Dimitri Kitaenko. He has given concerts in Europe, Asia, America and New Zealand and played at events including the Ravinia Festival, the Lucerne Festival, the Klavierfestival Ruhr, the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the Rheingau Music Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Quincena Musical de San Sebastián and the Burgos International Music Festival.
Christopher Park has been chosen as „Rising Star“ by the ECHO (European Concert Hall Organisation). Therefore he debuted in Europe’s renowned concert halls in London, Amsterdam, Hamburg, Vienna, Stockholm, Barcelona, Budapest, Lisboa and others.
Alongside his engagements as a soloist, for which he has gained recognition in the form of various scholarships and awards (e.g. the Rheingau Music Festival to support new talent), he is passionately involved in chamber music. He made his début in the Brahms Saal of the Vienna Musikverein at the end of 2014 with the Küchl Quartet, which comprises members of the Vienna Philharmonic. After that the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra nominated him as their candidate for the Credit-Suisse Award. He has also played with Avi Avital, Marc Bouchkov, Pablo Ferrandez, Alban Gerhardt, Richard O’Neill, Leticia Moreno, Adolfo Gutiérrez Arenas, the Pavel-Haas Quartet and accompanied singers including Sumi Jo. He has collaborated with John Neumeier on various projects such as Stravinsky’s Petrushka Variations, Schumann’s Kinderszenen and suites by Johann Sebastian Bach.
His solo CDs with Deutsche Grammophon, Oehms Classics, Ondine, and Capriccio have been praised by critics as ‘excellent in every way,’ ‘brilliant recording,’ and ‘reference recording’ by magazines such as Gramophone and Pizzicato.
Christopher Park was influenced by two major musical traditions during his studies: the Russian school of Lev Oborin with Lev Natochenny as well as the German school of Wilhelm Kempff with Joachim Volkmann.
Park was teaching in Frankfurt/Germany at both, the Conservatory and the University of Music and Performing Arts. Since 2021 he is professor at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo.

30-asis Pažaislio muzikos festivalis kviečia įvairių specialybių ir sričių muzikos atlikėjus prisijungti prie socialinių koncertų projekto „Susitikimai muzikoje“
Nuo 2021 m. Pažaislio muzikos festivalis rengia koncertus klausytojams, kurie dėl įvairių fizinių, psichinių, emocinių ir kitų priežasčių neturi galimybių lankytis pagrindinės programos renginiuose. Muzikiniai susitikimai per šiuos metus vyko Panemunės senelių namuose, Kauno šv. Roko mokykloje, negalią turinčių asmenų centre „Korys“, Kauno „Arkos“ bendruomenėje ir kitur.
2024–2025 m., bendradarbiaujant su UAB „Baltisches Haus“, kviečiame prie projekto „Susitikimai muzikoje“ veiklų prisijungti įvairių specialybių ir sričių muzikos atlikėjus.
Projekto dalyvių laukia:
- Dvi mokymų sesijos, kurias ves „Embrace Nederland“ fondo (Nyderlandai) atstovai. Pirmoji dalis vyks 2024 m. lapkričio mėnesį nuotoliniu būdu (on-line), trukmė – 4 val. Antroji mokymų dalis – seminaras ir dirbtuvės – vyks gyvai, planuojama 2025 m. vasario mėnesį. Pirmosios mokymų dallies metodinė medžiaga bus lietuvių ir anglų kalbomis, antrosios dalies veiklos vyks anglų kalba.
- Socialiniai koncertai-susitikimai įvairiose Kauno ir Kauno r. įstaigose, kuriuos organizuos viešoji įstaiga Pažaislio muzikos festivalis. Šių renginių grafikas bus derinamas atsižvelgiant į projekto dalyvių galimybes. Socialiniuose koncertuose dalyvaujantys atlikėjai gaus atlygį.

Nepraėjo nei dešimtmetis ir Radu vėl Lietuvoje, spalio 15 dieną Kauno filharmonijoje, spalio 19 dieną Vilniuje (Gariūnų verslo ir kultūros parko koncertų salėje).
„Žmonės iš tiesų nežino, kokios yra akordeono galimybės. Bet problema yra ne su klausytojais. Nedaug gerų akordeonistų groja svarbius klasikinius muzikinius kūrinius. Akordeonistų pasaulyje labiau priimta groti trijų minučių trukmės kūrinius: trijų minučių tango, trijų minučių polka, gal kažkas šiek tiek iš Bacho, gal dar kažko. Ir viskas. Ir koncertas susideda iš kokių penkiolikos kūrinių. Su tuo viskas gerai, man irgi patinka tokia koncepcija. Bet mums reikia ir kitokių koncepcijų. Pavyzdžiui, kai nueini į klasikinės muzikos koncertą ir išgirsti tris simfonijas ar dvi simfonijas. Tai kaip geras patiekalas. Kad būtų suprantama – ateinu šiandien į koncertą ir sugroju vieną kūrinį. Noriu skatinti šitą koncepciją tarp akordeonistų. Plaukiu prieš srovę, kad šitai tobulinčiau“, – sako akordeono virtuozas iš Moldovos Radu Ratoi, laimėjęs visus svarbiausius akordeono pasaulio trofėjus.

2024 spalio 8 d. Miko ir Kipro Petrauskų namai ir VDU Muzikos akademija pristatė koncertą, skirtą Senjorams „Muzikinės rudens akvarelės“. Koncerte skambėjo kompozitorių G. Kuprevičiaus, K. Kavecko, J. Lechavičiaus, L. Lechavičiaus, M. Natalevičiaus, B. Kaempfert, J. Strauss, P. Mascagni, J. Offenbach, A. Schoenberg ir kt. kompozitorių arijos, dainos ir romansai.
